Initially we went here for lunch and placed the order. Within the next 5 mins, we realised that we had miscalculated the time and our ferry to the Statue of Liberty was in the next 15 mins. It was impossible for us to have the pizza and reach there on time. So we requested if the order could be cancelled and we were ready to pay for the whole order. The server came back saying the pizzas were nearly ready and would be there soon. But since we didn’t not a single minute to spare, we requested to get us the bill and we would pay and go without the pizzas. To our pleasant surprise, they did not charge us at all understanding our issue. This really touched us.
After our ferry was back, we went to this place again on the same day , this time for Dinner :)
Good pizzas. We went for the traditional square pizzas. They have good customization options of half and full pizzas. We went for pepperoni and sausage on one side, mushrooms and spicy peppers on the other half. Felt the pepperoni half was a bit salty for my taste. Veggie half of the pizza was good but was a little sour.
The staff was very friendly and remembered us from the afternoon. We asked them to charge us for both the lunch that we missed and the dinner. But they were very courteous and charged only for the dinner.
Will highly recommend this place!
I've visited Adrienne's a number of times over the past 13 years or so, and can attest to their quality and consistency over time. The pizzas are light and fluffy, and are a pizza lover's delight.
During my latest visit around the Christmas holidays, I was disappointed by the extreme coldness of the waitress who was serving us e.g. I asked for water for the whole table and she went away without even acknowledging my request (thankfully she did get the water!). My subsequent request for a bit of olive oil was also met with a curt reply in the negative. Anyway, we still managed to have a good time, thanks to the amazing food. A special shout-out to the very refreshing lemonade that we ordered as well.
Our hotel Concierge recommended Adrienne's Pizzabar and we were glad to go the 'extra' distance in spite of the misty weather. They have a unique setup, outdoor seating (weather permitting), kitchen entry adjacent to the dining area, and code compliant, steep stairs to their downstairs restrooms. They easily seat individuals or groups, albeit an adjustable wait for group sizes.
Their pizzas (half cheese & mushroom/pepperoni and spinach & crushed/dried tomatoes) feed our group with plenty to spare. The salads, three different, offered ample serving for interested couples or a hungry human. We also ordered the eggplant parmesan and a broccoli side dish, neither of which I tried.
The service (Eduardo) did a splendid job to make our dining experience relaxing and enjoyable, never letting our water bottle near empty (until the end). As expected, they included gratuity with the group seating. Thanks again, Eduardo AND the Adrienne's Pizzabar Crew!
We had a wonderful bite here after visiting the 9/11 memorial. The atmosphere was so pleasant and our server Aiden was very attentive. I loved this place was located down a side road with outside seating. Such a cute place. Looking forward to coming back.
